Generic Lipitor out from Denmark

Few days back Ranbaxy launched Generic lipitor in Denmark. Lipitor is cholesterol lowering drug and best selling drug till today. Lipitor has been manufactured by Pfizer and the patent of lipitor is going to expire in 2010.

After Ranbaxy's introduction of generic version of lipitor into the market, Pfizer filed a case in Danish Court and court has asked Ranbaxy to stop selling generic version of lipitor in Denmark. Ranbaxy will have to withdraw generic lipitor from Denmark due to patent infringement.

The decision of Danish court was in favor of Pfizer and was a significant milestone in the defense of Pfizer.
